FIFA officials to visit India on May 21

In a bid to take stock of the progress made so far in the upcoming U-17 World Cup in 2017, FIFA's events director Colin Smith alongwith Fifa U-17 World Cup event manager Jaime Yarza is scheduled to make a stop at Football House in New Delhi next Thursday en route to New Zealand for the U-20 World Cup starting May 30. 

It was learnt that Yarza will be the project manager from FIFA's side for the India youth showpiece and will have a team under him to keep a constant vigil on the work being done as the event draws to a close in two years' time. 

Explaining the purpose of the visit, Javier Ceppi, Tournament Director added: "This is an introductory meeting with Fifa. They will be here to see what's happening and how effective the progress has been made so far, according to their expectations. 

"The 'main objective' of the tournament being held in India will also be charted out in the meeting."
