In the first half Qatar managed to pull one back at 15' through a thunderous strike from free kick by Said Albulushi and looked to claw their way back into the game.
The second half was an end-to-end battle as both team looked for possession and openings but eventually Jordan pressed hard to get their cushion lead of 3-1 with a 37 minutes strike by no. 10 Samer Samih Aldeen to cruise to a 3-1 lead.
The win gives Jordan huge boost for the qualification process as a win against Lebanon could ensure their play off clash in the Group B encounter.

In Group A,Asian powerhouse Iraq took on Bahrain in the opening game encounter and in a hard fought encounter Bahrain managed to sneak in a 3-2 victory in a game that could have of gone to either side.In the Arabian derby Saudi Arabia held to 1-1 draw with UAE  as Alhoshani scored for UAE at opening minute and was responded with a prompt equalizer from S Alasiri on the 4th minute. The remaining of the game there were many chances created by both teams but none failed to break the deadlock ending in 1-1 draw.
